CBD News: Elizabeth Maruma Mrema, CBD Acting Executive Secretary, welcomes announcement that biodiversity will be theme of the next year's World Environment Day: "We are delighted to see that biodiversity will be the focus of World Environment Day 2020. The 2020 WED theme is especially opportune and will help educate the public and mobilize political will around one of the most critical issues of our time. UNEP's decision will help raise awareness of actions needed in the "super year" for biodiversity.
